Australia’s leading salary packing and novated leasing provider, Smartgroup, has been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for a sixth consecutive year.
Smartgroup was awarded the Workplace Gender Equality Agency citation for 2026-2028, a citation the company has continuously held since 2021.
CEO and Managing Director Scott Wharton said the recognition was testament to the strong focus that Smartgroup had placed on diversity and inclusion for many years.
“I am incredibly proud of the inclusive culture we have built at Smartgroup and our commitment to gender equality. In 2025, we maintained at least 40 per cent female representation at every level within the organisation and on our Board, showing the depth of talent and experience women bring to Smartgroup,” Mr Wharton said.
“While this citation specifically recognises our commitment to gender equality, our commitment to diversity and inclusion is much broader than that.
“We are committed to fostering a culture where all our people feel they belong. We have a proud history of creating a thriving work environment, with diverse and inclusive teams, and celebrating this diversity is part of who we are.”
Last year, that holistic focus on diversity saw Smartgroup also retain Diversity Council Australia recognition as an Inclusive Employer for 2025-26.
WGEA CEO Mary Wooldridge congratulated Smartgroup for its work on gender equality.
“Holding the Workplace Gender Equality Citation provides national recognition that Smartgroup is deeply committed to positive action to achieve gender equality in their workplace,” Ms Wooldridge said.
“Citation holders demonstrate strong gender-equal outcomes at the moments that matter most to women and men at work. They go beyond policy and programs, embedding gender equality into the everyday employee experience.
“Committing to clear targets and using insights from employee surveys, these employers turn data into action, strengthening safety, fairness and opportunity for everyone in their organisation.”
